A cramped laundry reworked with smart joinery to hide appliances, add bench space and make everyday washing easier.
The existing bathroom was over 20 years old, finished in dated blue tiles that made the small room feel darker and more closed-in than it needed to be. The bath-over-shower combination was awkward for a young family, and storage was limited to a single small cabinet.
We stripped the room back to the studs and redesigned the layout around a hob-free walk-in shower, freeing up floor space and removing the trip hazard of the old bath step. A freestanding vanity replaced the built-in cabinet, and floor-to-ceiling porcelain tiles in a calmer neutral palette were installed to open the room up visually.
Full strip-out and re-plumbing, three coats of waterproofing certified to AS 3740-2021, floor-to-ceiling porcelain tiling, a frameless walk-in shower screen, freestanding vanity installation, new exhaust fan and LED lighting.
The family now has a bathroom that feels significantly larger despite the same footprint, with easier day-to-day use and a modern finish that will last. The full job, from strip-out to handover, was completed in 5 weeks.
